"The old fire house whistle blows at noon every Saturday allowing residents of both the village of Spring Valley and the township to set their clocks and know all is well. Things don't change too much within the village, yet local officials continue to work toward grants to help with upkeep and maintenance of the community. Constitution Park has a historical bronze marker as does the George Barrett Cement House and Spring Valley Lake. Bledsoe Park is where Spring Valley's annual Potato Festival is held every October, and a variety of summer activities are held at both Bledsoe and Walton parks, ranging from a scavenger hunt to music concerts. The township park offers baseball and softball diamonds for summer youth leagues, a soccer field, picnic shelters, playground equipment, horseshoe pits and basketball courts."
