"Surrounded by Honey Creek, the area around New Carlisle has been focused on agriculture, but the bedroom community added 126 acres last year through annexation and plans four more annexations that will bring an additional 276 acres into the city. Not only has the city grown in size, residential opportunities continue to expand as well with new homes under construction with prices ranging from $160,000 to $300,000. The city also increased the size of the public water plant, which became operational last year. The new plant has a larger daily capacity and state-of-the-art system to soften and filter drinking water. The downtown area has not been forgotten as the city completed two phases of its revitalization project. Phase III will begin in spring 2008 and will extend the curb ramps, pavers, decorative lighting and trees north from Lake Avenue to Galewood Drive. Also, East Lake Avenue is scheduled this year for total reconstruction, which will include curb and gutters, new storm sewers and a Town Hall clock. "
