"Centerville became the first community in southern Ohio to prohibit smoking in public places. The effort to become smoke-free has been strongly supported within the community. A major construction project was the new Washington Twp. fire department station house on Clyo Road at the Centerville Business Parkway. Using a former State Farm Insurance building, the construction crews revitalized the building and addressed the needs of the fire department to allow quicker response time in that section of the township. The city of Centerville is serviced by the township fire department. While many Centerville residents benefit from neighboring Washington Twp. parks and activities, Leonard E. Stubbs Memorial Park and Centerville Community Amphitheater, located west of state Route 48 along the north side of West Spring Valley Road, is the location of the Centerville Summer Concert series. Presented by the Centerville Arts Commission and the city of Centerville the concerts are free to the public. Lawn seating is available as are concessions during concert hours."
